Timothy James Dowd

Timothy James Dowd, 59, of Alvin died on October 29, 2016. He was born on April 1, 1957 in Port Lavaca, Texas, graduated from Calhoun High School, and attended Texas State University. He worked locally for many years as a pipe fitter.

Timothy is survived by his wife Susan Gayle Dowd and her children Brian Bethscheider, Tracy Plasencia, and Eric Bethscheider. He is also survived by his mother, Rita Dowd of New Braunfels; sisters Catherine Gleinser (David), Nancy Dowd, and Bridget McPhillips; brothers Andrew Dowd (Tracy), Samuel Dowd, Sr. (Annie), and Sean Dowd (Suzanne). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Thomas M. Dowd and brother, Michael Patrick Dowd.

Timothy was a loving and attentive husband to Susan. He loved to golf and fish and be by Susan's side. Timothy and Susan were active members of the First United Methodist Church of Alvin and enjoyed traveling together. Timothy was a much loved and admired brother and uncle. He was smart, funny, generous, and kind-hearted. We loved to prank him on his April Fool's Birthday and he was the one to beat during our many hours at the family game table. Timothy's faith was strong and an example for us all. We will miss his sweet demeanor and his smiling eyes.
