Angelita (Soto) Flores

Angelita Flores, 93 years young, passed peacefully on March 10, 2017 in Alvin. She was born on January 12, 1924 in Laredo, Texas to parents, Apolinar and Presiliana (Guerra) Soto. Angelita moved to the area from Corpus Christi 46 years ago.

Some of her favorite pastimes were playing and winning at BINGO. Angelita also loved writing letters to family and friends, listening to country music, and enjoyed watching Novelas and Wheel of Fortune on the television. She was also very competitive when playing board games.

Angelita was preceded in death by her husband, Juan L. Flores; daughter, Virginia Gutierrez; her parents, Apolinar and Presiliana Soto; sisters, Irene Maldonado and Victoria Rios; and brother, Raymundo Soto.

She is survived by her son, Jose Luis Soto and wife Bertha; grandchildren: Linda Hernandez and husband Arnold, Josabet Simpson and husband Alex, Jozette Soto; great grandchild, Vivian Hernandez; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Denise Vitek with Faith Community Hospice for her attentiveness and services rendered to Angelita and the Soto Family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Oak Park Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Alvin with Father John officiating. Interment will follow in procession to Oak Park Cemetery.
