Billy Shaffer Hancock, 87, of Rosharon passed away on December 15, 2018. Bill was born on October 21, 1931 in Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up in both Florida and Louisiana before moving to Texas forty years ago. He served his country proudly in the United Sates Army. While living in Louisiana, he met his bride to be, Norma Caples. They were married on August 6, 1954 in West Monroe, Louisiana. Bill was a man of simple tastes and simple pleasures, such as his Sunday ritual of smoking a good cigar and taking a shot of whiskey. He also enjoyed the outdoors and being able to mow his yard.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Hancock; and his son, James Hancock.
Left to remember him are his sons: Billy Hancock and wife Janet of Somerville, Raymond Hancock and wife Cathy of Sugar Land, and Eugene Hancock and wife Kathy of Rosharon; grandchildren: Joshua, Nikki, Matt, Jessica, Scotty and Kurt; and great grandchildren: Kassidy, Dane, Blakely, Karlee, Piper, Charlotte and Wylie.
