Christopher Charles Kirkwood, Sr., 47, of Tomball passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 after a battle well fought. Christopher was born on January 19, 1968 in Houston to parents Charles and Claudette (Halsell) Kirkwood. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, dirt track racing, swimming and deer hunting. He loved the game of football and his favorite team was the Houston Texans. Along with his son Chris Jr., he helped coach his sister “Big Sue #70” in the WPFL (Women’s Professional Football League) to win 3 championships. He hated the Dallas Cowboys! But he loved his girl Lori anyways. “To the moon and back”. His family was most important to him and the time spent together was precious. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Kirkwood, grandparents Helen and J.D. Kirkwood, and niece Kelly and nephew Kyle. Christopher is survived by his girlfriend Lori Brannen of Tomball, mother Claudette Kirkwood of Alvin, son Chris Kirkwood Jr. and girlfriend Krystal Lawson of Humble, brother and sisters: Robert Kirkwood and wife Donna of Tennessee, Kim Baird and husband Eddy of Alvin, Suzan Roberts and husband Joe of Alvin; nieces and nephews: Joshua Roberts, Rebecca Ledet, Scott Roberts, and Lauren Baird; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Friday July 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Oak Park Chapel, 300 Oak Park Drive, Alvin, Texas 77511. Funeral services will be Saturday July 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Park Chapel, 300 Oak Park Drive, Alvin, Texas 77511 with Pastor Del Toler officiating. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery.
