Dalphine Frieda Davis

Dalphine Frieda Davis, 89, of Friendswood, Texas, went home to be with our Lord on November 20, 2014.  Dalphine was born on January 16, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to James and Elizabeth Roberts.  On May 2, 1942, she married the love of her life Ishmael L. Davis in Texas and traveled with him and their children while he was in the USAF.  Dalphine was in the Drum and Bugle Corp in Dallas and enjoyed volunteering at Are You OK and the Alvin Senior Center, where she taught line dancing and was on the dance committee.  She was a member of South Park Baptist Church in Alvin, was involved with Women on Mission and she attended ACC where she learned line dancing.  Some of her favorite pastimes included swimming, bowling with her husband, traveling to visit family members and crocheting baby afghans and hats for the Crisis Pregnancy Center and Operation Christmas Child.  Her most favorite thing in life was bringing laughter to others. Dalphine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ishmael; and her sisters, Florence Lieffring, Pearl Roberts, Helen Weaver, Onita Spivey, Lorita Sumter, Jimmie Lee Miller and Genevieve Pepmeyer.  She is survived by her children, Ernestine S. Dahlin of Friendswood, TX, Ira L. Davis and wife Sara of Austin, TX, and Donna M. Murphy of Everett, WA; her twin sister, Ernestine T. Cameron of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Denise M. Nabours and husband Rex II of Alvin, TX, Ken E. Dahlin and wife Ann of Stockton, NY, Shannon M. Duncan and husband Ken of Seattle, WA, Shawn Murphy and wife Susanne of Everett, WA, Ira D. Davis and wife Erin of Florence, AL, Kathryn, Elizabeth and Claire Davis of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren, Rex III, Olivia, Konner, Andy, Lex and wife JoMae, Zac, Christina, Cade and Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Froberg Chapel in Alvin.
