Jane Esther Thomas-Rodriguez, 35, of Alvin went to be in God’s care surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, February 11, 2016 after her battle with cancer. Jane was born on June 17, 1980 in Webster to proud parents, Charles Thomas, Jr. and Wilma Kanatzar. Her faith and belief in God gave her guidance throughout her life and gave her strength not to feel self pity throughout her illness. Jane loved photography, drawing and art, and reading books but enjoyed her time with her family and friends most of all. Her happiest day in her life was marrying her best friend, J.J. Rodriguez. He exemplified his vows of “in sickness and in health” with the greatest care and love.
Jane had many fondest memories of her lifelong best friend, Kim Guess, having known each other since they were small children. They used to dream of growing old together and making fun of each other. We will meet again someday and continue our journey.
Jane was preceded in death by her grandparents and numerous family members and friends.
She is survived by her husband J.J. Rodriguez and his children, Jeremy and Lexi Rodriguez; parents Charles Thomas, Jr. and Wilma Kanatzar; brother Charlie Thomas, III and wife Heather and children, Emily, Zack, and Rebecca; uncle Michael Thomas and aunt Sue and children Tina, Cindie and Michael, Jr.; uncle Keith Thomas and aunt Joy and children, Stephanie and Spencer; and many other family members and friends.
