Johnnie L. (Corkern) Armstrong, 85, of Houston passed away on July 24, 2015. Johnnie was born on June 8, 1930 in Franklinton, Louisiana to parents Creton and Era (Crowe) Corkern. Johnnie enjoyed gardening and sewing. She and her husband Jess spent their retirement years traveling around our country in their RV. When asked if there were any words that she would like to leave for her grandchildren to remember her by, she replied “Keep smiling!” Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents , son Virgil Morgan and daughter Fay Ellen Morgan. Johnnie is survived by her husband Jesse Armstong of Houston; daughters: Brenda Sue Carney and husband Gerald of Dallas, Donna Jean Vandagriff and husband Richard of Alvin; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Park Cemetery.
