Josephine (Martinez) Chavez

Josephine Chavez, age 100, of Alvin passed away on July 18, 2020. She was born in Ganado, Texas to parents Louis Martinez and Guadalupe (Coronado) Martinez on November 27, 1919.

Josephine loved her family more than anything and enjoyed spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Chavez; and parents, Louis and Guadalupe Martinez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jesse Chavez, Sr. and wife Maria; grandchildren: Jesse Chavez, Jr. and wife Veronica, Andy Chavez and wife Amanda; great grandchildren: Haley Chavez, Matthew Chavez, Joshua Chavez, Amy Chavez, Jordan Chavez, Addy Chavez; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Services for Josephine Chavez will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Oak Park Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Rosary recited at 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon David Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery.
