Joyce Fay (Bruce) Collins

Joyce Fay (Bruce) Collins, age 88 of Pearland passed away on May 10, 2020. She was born in Alvin, Texas to parents Earl Bruce and Alma (Moore) Bruce on February 18, 1932. She lived in Pearland since 1935. Joyce went to Pearland High School and was an avid volleyball player. She married the love of her life, Alfred Collins on October 19, 1950. They met while Joyce was working as a waitress. As she walked by Alfred, Joyce kicked him. They were married two weeks later until Alfred’s death in December 1973.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Collins; parents, Earl and Alma Bruce.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Joyce Ann Ellis and husband Bill, Grady “Bubba” Collins, Betty Jean “Tootie” Collins; sister, Gloria Jean Broom; grandchildren: Brandy Ann Collins Hart and husband James, Terry Alfred Collins and wife Helena, Heath Wood and wife Jennifer, TJ McMahon and wife Leslie, Chad Quinton Collins and wife Crystal, William Alfred “Slick” Ellis and wife Jamie Kay, Corey Joseph Ellis; great grandchildren: Brittany Hart, Brandon Hart, Timmy Wood, Avery Collins, Brennan Collins, Ryker Collins, Oakley Kay Ellis, Reese McMahon, Londyn McMahon, Case Collins, Caroline Collins; one great great grandchild, Ember Rae Villarreal; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Her grandchildren will not miss the switch she kept nearby.

Pallbearers are Terry Collins, Heath Wood, TJ McMahon, Chad Collins, Slick Ellis, and Corey Ellis. Honorary Pallbearers are Bucky Collins and Kevin Collins.
