She was born on July 14, 1940 in Long Beach, California to parents, John Robert Bailey and Jean Frances Paterson. Margaret enjoyed visiting flea markets and antique stores collecting and reselling various items. She married Norris Jones on February 2, 1982 in Vaiden, Mississippi.
