Viola Lucile Englen, 84, of Myrtle, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Shady Oaks Healthcare Center in Thayer, Missouri. She was born May 30, 1930, in Miami, Florida, to John Lee Wright and Leath Fisher Wright. On April 10, 1953, she was married in the State of Texas, to David Glassford, who preceded her in death on July 18, 1996. On April 29, 2000, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Otes Englen. Mrs. Englen was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. She was the retired postmaster of Liverpool, Texas. She enjoyed helping people and volunteering with numerous charities. Mrs. Englen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Thayer, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, Otes Englen of Myrtle, Missouri; two children, Guy Glassford and wife, Anna of Sweeney, Texas and Diane Adams and husband, Marshall of Alvin, Texas; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; her sister Cora of California; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, first husband, three sisters and three brothers, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held at Froberg Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Burial will follow at The Liverpool Cemetery in Liverpool, Texas. Memorial Contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO 65775.
